MAGYAR POSTA ACCELERATES THE PAYMENT OF PENSIONS

Magyar Post is accelerating the payment of pensions in view of the emergency situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic. According to the plans, the entitled individuals will receive the allowance 2-3 days earlier than the original schedule.

18 March 2020

According to the pension payment calendar postmen will deliver pensions to the eligible individuals between 16th and 31st March, within 12 working days. In view of the spread of the outbreak and the restrictions imposed, Magyar Posta has decided that its employees will deliver pensions earlier than planned. The faster delivery is supported by the Hungarian State Treasury.

Pensions may be paid out in the same order as the original payments, but 2-3 days earlier than the original schedule. The pensioners concerned have nothing to do, the postmen will, as a rule, deliver their pension to their homes at the latest on the date indicated in the pension payment calendar, or sooner if possible.

The state still pays a large proportion of pensions and pension-type benefits to the individuals concerned in cash, through postal delivery. Magyar Posta delivers pensions and pension-type benefits to an average of 1.1 million people every month.
