The TV Teddy was the creation of the writer Ágnes Bálint and the puppet designer Ottó Foky and was made in the MTVA’s former studio. Each year the members of the Association of European Postal Operators (PostEurop) issue stamps on a common theme to present the identical values of their states. The “EUROPA” stamp is still one of the most popular themes for collectors, and issues bearing the official logo are among the most sought-after new stamps. In 2023 the member states elaborate the theme of peace in their stamps. The Hungarian miniature sheet containing two pairs of stamps was designed by the graphic artist Boglárka Nádi and 20,000 copies were produced by Pénzjegynyomda Zrt. Magyar Posta is marking the two railway history anniversaries of 2023 with the issue of a commemorative miniature sheet. The first Hungarian steam locomotive was produced 150 years ago and the first electric locomotive entered service in Hungary 100 years ago. Magyar Posta devotes the proceeds of the surcharge on two stamps of the miniature sheet totalling HUF 150 to supporting youth stamp collecting. Ten thousand copies of the commemorative miniature sheet of four stamps designed by the graphic artist Imre Benedek were produced by the printing company Pénzjegynyomda Zrt. Magyar Posta is commemorating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Count Menyhért Lónyay by issuing a special stamp. The new issue designed by the graphic artist Barnabás Baticz was produced by ANY Security Printing Company, and will be available at first day post offices and Filaposta in Hungary and may also be ordered from Magyar Posta’s online store from 1 July 2022.

THE GOLDEN BULL IS 800 YEARS OLD

Magyar Posta is releasing a new issue to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the proclamation of the Golden Bull. The numbered commemorative souvenir sheet was designed by the graphic artist Barnabás Baticz and printed by the banknote printing company Pénzjegynyomda. The new issue will be released on 24 June 2022. It may be purchased at first day post offices and Filaposta in Hungary or ordered from Magyar Posta’s online store.

GYSEV WAS FOUNDED 150 YEARS AGO

Magyar Posta is marking the 150th anniversary of the foundation of GYSEV Zrt. by issuing a commemorative stamp. The new issue designed by graphic artist Imre Benedek was produced by ANY Security Printing Company, and will be available at first day post offices and Filaposta in Hungary and may also be ordered from Magyar Posta’s online store from 10 June 2022.

SMS LEITHA MONITOR ENTERED SERVICE 150 YEARS AGO

Magyar Posta is issuing a stamp to commemorate the entry into service of the SMS LEITHA MONITOR 150 years ago. The numbered commemorative souvenir sheet designed by the graphic artist Glória Hefelle was produced in perforated and imperforated editions by Pénzjegynyomda Security Printing Company. The new issue will be released on 17 May 2022.

ARBORETA AND BOTANIC GARDENS OF HUNGARY I.

In 2022 Magyar Posta is launching a new series called Arboreta and Botanic Gardens in Hungary, which aims to present different locations annually over a number of years. On the occasion of the 2022 issue, an additional stamp marking the 9th European Botanic Gardens Congress is linked to the series. The set of five stamps was designed by the graphic artist Tibor Z. Petényi and produced by ANY Security Printing Company.

INDIGENOUS HUNGARIAN POULTRY BREEDS

In 2022 Magyar Posta is starting a new series called Indigenous Hungarian Poultry Breeds, which, based on the plans, is intended to present a different poultry breed annually over a number of years. In 2022, the white Transylvanian naked neck chicken, the speckled Transylvanian naked neck chicken and the black Transylvanian naked neck chicken appear on the stamps. The strip of three stamps designed by the graphic artist Ágnes Berta were produced by ANY Security Printing Company.

EUROPA2022: STORIES AND MYTHS

Each year the members of the Association of European Postal Operators (PostEurop) issue stamps on a common theme to present the identical values of their states. The “EUROPA” stamp is still one of the most popular themes for collectors, and issues bearing the official logo are among the most sought-after new stamps. In 2022 the member countries are presenting the theme of stories and myths on the stamp. The Hungarian miniature sheet consisting of two pairs of stamps was designed by the graphic artist Imre Benedek of which 20,000 copies were produced by the banknote printing company Pénzjegynyomda Zrt..

95TH STAMP DAY: JÓZSEF VERTEL WAS BORN 100 YEARS AGO

Magyar Posta is issuing a special pair of se-tenant stamps and a numbered souvenir sheet with a surcharge for the 95th Stamp Day, which marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the graphic artist and stamp designer József Vertel. OPENING OF THE RENOVATED OPERA HOUSE

Magyar Posta is celebrating the reopening of the renovated building of the Hungarian State Opera House by issuing a promotional personalised stamp. Thirty-five thousand copies of the philatelic novelty made by printing on the label part of the Your Own Stamp personalised stamp were produced by the banknote printing company Pénzjegynyomda.

Magyar Posta is celebrating Christianity’s most important feast, Easter, by issuing a definitive stamp. This year, the self-adhesive stamp with no value indication bearing the inscription “Domestic” and the first day cover show compositions related to Easter designed by the graphic artist Krisztina Maros. The new stamp was produced by Codex Értékpapírnyomda Zrt.

YEAR OF SAINT IGNATIUS

Magyar Posta is issuing a commemorative stamp in honour of the 400th anniversary of the canonisation of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus, often referred to as the Jesuits. Fifty thousand copies of the commemorative stamp designed by the graphic artist Ferenc Szabó were produced by ANY Security Printing Company.

To mark the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Árpád Göncz, Magyar Posta is issuing a commemorative stamp. The Attila József Prize-winning writer and literary translator was the first president of the 3rd Hungarian Republic between 1990 and 2000. Fifty thousand copies of the commemorative stamp designed by the graphic artist Imre Benedek were produced by ANY Security Printing Company.

24TH WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES, BEIJING

CHINESE HOROSCOPE: 2022 YEAR OF THE TIGER

For the ninth time, Magyar Posta is issuing a special miniature sheet using motifs from the Chinese horoscope. The coming period from 1 February 2022 until 21 January 2023 is the Year of the Tiger associated with the element water.
